Super-sized bottle of this elegant, classic Sancerre. Quite festive, we might add.
+ GRAPE: 100% Sauvignon Blanc, grown in multiple parcels around the Sancerre region. The 25+ year-old vines are planted in Kimmeridgian (ancient seabed) limestone soils in Chavignol.
+ PROFILE: Dry, crisp, medium-plus weight. Loads of high-toned citrus, backed by a graceful, minerally exit.
+ FUNDAMENTALS: Sustainably farmed and hand-harvested. The grapes are femented using wild yeast in both fiberglass and cement tanks, then aged on the fine lees in stainless steel. The wine is bottled without filtration, which lends a beautiful texture.
