A bit of a silly label, a lot of serious Syrah.
+ GRAPE: 100% Syrah. Certified organic, biodynamic practices. Grown in the hills above Saint Joseph in the cool-kids corner of the Ardeche in the Rhone Valley. Granitic soil.
+ PROFILE: Dry, plush and textural with fresh acidity. Pickled cherry and raspberry on the nose, followed by plum, dried herbs, pepper and Syrah's characteristic Kalamata olive fruit. I'm a food wine, best enjoyed with earthy flavors and roasts.
+ FUNDAMENTALS: Vinification in stainless tanks and concrete. 30% of the fruit is left whole-cluster. Wild yeast. Just a judicious amount of sulfur at bottling for stability.
