Perfect for those who can't decide between a rosé or a chillable red...
+ GRAPES: Organic. 100% Nerello Mascalese, grown high on the south-eastern slopes of Mt. Etna, Sicily in volcanic soil.
+ PROFILE: Dry. Smoke, stone, red cherries and berries. Marcona almonds, blood orange, Mediterranean broom and a saline finish. The tannin-forward nature makes this an awesome food wine for salume, cheeses, tinned seafood, and pasta dishes. Enjoy with a chill, but not too cold.
+ FUNDAMENTALS: Hand-harvested grapes. Gentle direct-press, fermented in stainless steel using wild yeast. The wine rests on the lees, lending body and texture.
+ ABOUT BENANTI: At the end of the 1800s, Giuseppe Benanti began the production of wines on one of his father’s old farms on the slopes of Mount Etna. In 1988, Guiseppe's grandson revived the family’s old passion, with an extensive and selective study of the Etna soils devoted to viticulture and the old 'palmento' tradition of winemaking in region.
